What is Homeshare?

Homeshare gives older people live-in support and companionship in their own home.

  • Homeshare helps older people to keep their independence
  • Older people receive help with everyday domestic duties and assistance getting out and about
  • Homeshare provides companionship and security to older people and peace of mind to their family reassuring them that their older relatives are not alone.
  • We enable older people to remain in their own home

Homeshare is a simple affordable service for people who feel vulnerable or isolated, or who need help and companionship around the home. Our carefully selected Homesharers can help with things like cleaning, laundry and shopping, as well as providing friendship and security.

As a Householder, Homeshare gives you the support you need to enjoy life to the full and gives your loved ones peace of mind.

This is a unique and ideal programme to get live-in support in your own home, if you are interested, download a Homeshare Householder application form, which should be returned to Laura Johnson.

For further information please call  on 020 7485 7416 or email laura@crossroadscarecnl.org

Who are our Homesharers?

Our Homesharers are responsible, caring and friendly people that are willing to help an older or disabled person for 10 hours a week and in return they get their own room and a share of the facilities, for a very reasonable monthly fee.

The benefits of being a Homesharer are:

  • Huge savings on typical London rents
  • Quiet and comfortable environment
  • Companionship in London

Our Homesharers come from many different backgrounds and walks of life.  We ask Homesharers to commit to 10 hours per week supporting the Householder.

There are no specific qualifications for homesharing.  If you want to be a Homesharer, you just need to be caring and responsible in your outlook, have at least 12 months residency in the UK,  and be willing to spend a regular portion of each week helping an older or disabled person with everyday domestic duties.

If you are interested in becoming a Homesharer, you can download a Homesharer Application Form which should be returned to Laura Johnson.

The Homeshare selection and placement process takes at least 4 weeks and DBS (formerly known as CRB) checks are carried out.

For further information please email Laura Johnson at laura@crossroadscarecnl.org or call on 020 7485 7416.

Unfortunately we are unable to see you at the office without an appointment.
